Why Our Full Potential.

I want to start by addressing why I would pick the title of my blog to read Our Full Potential. The phrase Full Potential sounds like some kind of New Age saying; right? Kind of like finding your inner child or something. Maybe focusing on your bellybutton, or your core, or whatever.

Well, I want to redeem the idea of full potential back from a New Age movement because the truth is that one's true potential can only be found in a relationship with Jesus Christ. Once we are in a right relationship with God He then wants us to become more like Christ, being transformed into His likeness for God's glory.

As a Christ follower part of what it means to pursue your full potential is for us to yield our lives, having our gifts and talents being developed so that God can receive more and more glory. Developing our gifts and become more Christlike is about being faithful with the life God has given us. Stewardship! It's pretty clear from scripture that God won't say to everyone, "well done good and faithful servant". And it's not always in the area of doing more for Christ. No, it's also about being more for Christ. Are we more compassionate now than we were this time last year?

Let's not get comfortable with where we are today (spiritually or otherwise) but let us encourage each other to press on to the high calling which is in Christ Jesus.

To God be the glory!!! "Life is God's gift to us, what we do with our life is our gift back to God."
